LGA 2011 or LGA 1155 cpu?

Hello, Im going to make my first rig, should I go to lga 2011 or lga 1155?

Ivy Bridge will be compatible with lga 1155 but i dont think it is usefull for a gamer since every gamer has a discrete GPU and with Ivy only the graphics will be improved not the actual Cpu performance.
it is up to you! personally for me Ivy is not an upgrade path for a gamer.

Like antonisrsx stated earlier it is really up to what you are going to be doing with the computer. For games the expanded memory bandwidth and more lanes of PCI-E doesn’t make a lot of difference in a gaming system. For things like digital encoding or video editing the extra cores/threads, memory bandwidth can make a big difference in performance with applications like Adobe CS.

So looking at your budget is the next step and if you are finding that you budget is tight then go with the socket 1155 board and a processor like the Intel® Core™ i7-2600K. If on the other hand your budget is not that tight moving to an X79 board and a processor like the Intel Core i7-3930K would perform better for you in some of your applications.
