Looking to upgrade my sons gaming PC. Currently running a Intel E2220 at 2.4ghz in the LGA775 socket, the GPU is a Zotac 9600gt with 512 GDDR3, also 4gb DDR3. it struggles running most games at any decent settings, looking to upgrade the GPU and possibly the CPU if its worth it. I have a thermal take 420w PSU so i can handle most single GPU's. was wondering what recomendations for cards i should look at to run LoL, WOW, minecraft and a few others in max settings. nothing like BF4 is played on this so i dont need overkill i have a main rig for that. Thanks

What motherboard does your son's gaming PC have? Personally I would recommend both a CPU and GPU upgrade. Honestly I'd also recommend a PSU and motherboard upgrade, but since you did state you don't need anything too over the top (since you have a main rig); upgrading the CPU and GPU should be enough.

Again what is the motherboard and what's your budget (the amount you're willing to spend)? Also are you from the United States? If not could you please state your country? So I can determine the currency and availability in your country.

All the best. :)

The motherboard is a stock, came from a rig bought at best buy, I am in the U.S. I dont plan on anything over the top would like to keep everything under $200 just dont want to get a really nice GPU and bottleneck it. thanks again for the help

The core 2 quad will pair nicely with the r7 260x.
