Hi,

I recently bought a ASUS Strix Geforce 1080 GTX and had to remove the HDD cage from my Lian-Li PC 9F case or else the GPU wouldn't fit into the case. Slapping my head for not measuring first but oh well...

The case has 3 x 5.25 bays (currently one being used for a DVD RW drive, one for frontside USB and one for nothing). As I have 4 hard drives (1 x 2.5 SSD and 3 x 3.5 HDD), I was thinking of ditching the DVD and front USB (which I don't use anyway) and put these drives into a Lian Li EX-36B1: http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/ex-36b1/

My question is, is this compatible with the PC 9F so called "tool less" 5.25 bays ? Having a hard time finding the info.

Another option could be the EX-36A2 as a replacement for one of the two bottom front fans in the case (http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/ex-36a2/), or am I mistaking in thinking that could fit there ? Should that also go into the top 5.25 bays ?

Anybody has any experience with the EX-36B1 and or EX-36A2 ?

Thanks for any replies.

Mathieu

Solution
you can remove the lower entire drive bay. modify it (split it into two ) to just be in opposite side of psu you can stuff all 4 drives there.
or do some DIY.
you can use aluminium angles and hot glue for the job.
