Hi, I recently got some second hand Lian Li's SL120 fans.

The problem is that I didn't get the hub/fan controller with it but the website says that I can connect the fans directly to the motherboard with what I believe is a '3 Pin 5V' adapter as shown:

Do you think I can use my Asus Rog Aura sync 3 pin 5v adapter for the job?: View: https://imgur.com/a/hbNUNWw

I've asked around on the Lian Li reddit but they haven't responded, they do have an ARGB conversion kit available to purchase but Im not sure if I should shell out another 20 bucks for it, (they have 5 different cables but I only need one out of the 5, the other 4 cables are uneccessary to me).

Model for your Asus motherboard? ROG is the sub-branding within Asus to denote their Republic Of Gamer's range of gear. Please note that if the wiring for the cable is wrong, i.e, the order is reversed, then you can potentially fry the board or the controller responsible for the ARGB. I'd spend that $20 and get the cable kit, would also come in handy when you decide to sell the fans and the other user doesn't have an Asus board, it also leaves the guess work out of the equation.

The kit is to ensure maximum compatibility and limit the number of SKU's for packaging, hence one kit, to cater to any board on the market.

My 2 cents on the matter. Someone else from our community would probably have a better suggestion.
