Hi everyone.
Few day ago my boss gave me the new version of Windows 8.1 for my old laptop Acer TravelMate. I had to take one of Windows versions and I thought I don't mind which one I choose. So I choosed the home version or what the hell (just some basic version).
But now I DO mind what kind of version of Windows do I have when I can't do half of things which I have to do with my computer. So I went to talk with my boss again. I wanted him to give me the Pro licence of Windows and he gave it to me. Now I have installed home version on my laptop with all of my installed apps so I don't want to reinstall the windows. I googled my problem and I found out I can change my licence to Pro very easily. I just have to type "Windows Anytime Upgrade" and seek it in my computer. It will find some function called, as I mentioned, Windows Anytime Upgrade.
When I open it I should choose the first one option (Get more functions with new edition of Windows). But if I choose it, the new window opens with a title: Not possible to add more functions to this type of Windows.

Do you have any idea how to change my Windows licence without reinstalling the whole system? I would like to to do it this way, but is it even possible?

Thanks for reactions!

David

If you download the windows 8.1 Pro installation disk and mount / install it you can then install it as an "Upgrade" and you will then be running pro.

If you mean that half of your laptops functions E.G. bluetooth, WiFi, webcam etc.. aren't working this won't fix this. Those issues are solved by installing the windows 8 device drivers.
