Folks

About 4 or 5 years ago , I bought a Advent PC with Windows 7 PRO installed
All has been working fine until this weekend when all of a sudden I get a black Wall Paper and
a message in the right had side to say this is NOT A Genuine version of Windows 7

I thought Windows 7 licenses once bought did not expire

On the side of the box is a Windows sticker
Windows 7 Home Prem OA
DSG Retail Limited

Using Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool
I get the following

Any suggestions , apart from having to fork out money for a machine / license that I have all ready paid for.

Matt

Solution
They shouldn't expire. However, sometimes your machine flips a bit somewhere or has something else random go wrong, which could cause it to complain.

IIRC, there's a link in Control Panel>System that says 'Change my product key'. Click it, and use the key on the CoA on the side of your case. It may ask you to phone Microsoft, if so, do that.

Solution
contact Microsoft, let them gain remote access and they will sort it out under 10 minutes. It happened to me when I changed my storage device and I contacted them to get it done :)

It can be worth saying that you have changed some hardware in your PC 😉

Also thanks to Azrael47 , for very quick reply.

FYI I used this to change the key
Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
Scroll down to the bottom of the window that appears, and then, under Windows activation, click Change product key. If you're prompted for permission to continue the process, click Continue.

Follow the instructions to change your product key and activate your copy of Windows 7.

After entering the key , all seems to be fine again.

Thank you for all your help.

Matt
