Lifting off the CPU

I've just installed an i5 6600k into an ASROCK z170 extreme4 with a CM 212x cooler. The parts are all new.

Because of the weird cooler bracket, I had to lift the cooler off of the cpu to realign. Will this affect the thermal paste or CPU in any way?
I wasnt aware of any bubbles or irregularities before I replaced the cooler several minutes later.

I'm yet to test the build as the PSU is yet to arrive. Just wanted to ensure there would be no major issues as I'd like to avoid replacing the paste so soon

Long as the paste hasn't had time to cure it would be fine. How long has the paste been on the CPU. An hour or two isn't a big deal but a few days. The paste could hold the heatsink off the CPU.

It was only off for several minutes, my only fear was introducing air or affecting the seal/cooling it would have on the CPU. This is my first build, so it's mostly paranoia.

Apologies for not quoting/replying. I'm new to these forums too.

The only way to know is to test it with the cpu running and check temps under load. If temps are fine, it's fine. Some air bubbles will probably get introduced removing and resetting the cooler, ideally it would be done in one shot so as the cooler base meets the paste and ihs on the cpu it spreads it out. The only reason to be concerned is if temps are high and that won't be known until it's running.
