Light blue screen on start up (sometimes)

Hi,

Sometimes when I start up my computer, I am met with a light blue screen (the same colour a bsod but there is no text). I then need to press ctrl alt dlt or press the reset button and the computer will start up without problem. There are no minidumps created (although, I have followed all the steps and have not succeeded at generating minidumps in windows 8. I have not had a bsod in a while, so I don't know if my latest attempt will allow me to see them).

Any ideas what is causing this? I think the problem started occurring after I installed my graphics card (gtx 970) but I am not sure. my cpu is overclocked but I generally dont have any problems and I have stable temps.

does the blue screen has the word " please wait" or something like that? cuz mine does that sometimes just before the lockscreen loads
