Lightning hit my building the other day, and the zolt came through the ethernet and destroyed my modem, router, and my motherboard is shot. I bought a new mobo to replace, but I went from LGA 1150 to 1151, so I can't test my RAM/CPU to see if they can be salvaged. How can I find out if only the Mobo was fried, or if the lightning strike also took out my RAM and CPU?

I've already determined that my HDDs/SSDs and GPU are fine, they're in my new replacement build (6600k, DDR4 3000, Asus Z170-AR mobo).

Do I just buy a new/used 1150 mobo and add the old RAM/CPU to test it out? Is there another, cheaper way?

Yep.
I suspect the CPU is fine, but there is no way to confirm that without setting up a system again.

*What is your plan to SELL the parts? Are they worth much?

If they are worth enough to justify the following, then maybe get an inexpensive (but not crappiest) motherboard so you can test then sell the motherboard, CPU, memory as a working KIT?

Maybe something like THIS:

Okay, I figured as much. I'm thinking of either selling the kit, like you said, or setting up a second comp, although not sure what I'd do with it. I guess I could use it as a backup for the next time I get struck by lightning...

Potentially still alive:

i5 3570k 3.4
Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600 9 9 9 24 1.5v

Old Mobo:

Asus P8z77-V LX (Fried via the Ethernet LAN as far as I can tell)
