Lights are on but nobody is home

Not sure this is the place to post this but it could be my problem. Everything was running fantasticly and I shut it down to take out a hard drive I just reformatted to use in a new build. Well that did not work, said I need a driver on a thumb drive or cd with it one there to continue. I did not have this so I put in a brand new one and got my new build for my father to finally load Windows. But here is the biggie, now my new build with an I7 2600k and a OCZ Vertex 3 120 will not even post now. all the lights come on but nothing on the screen. Have disconnected all drives except the
ssd and still nothing. Want in the world of screw up something could I have done to do this? I mean I get nothing at all on the screen. It is less that a month old an has been running perfectly at 4.4 Gh. So help me out Guys and Gals, I am at a loss. I have reset, rebooted several times and still nothing on the screen.

check the black plate at the bottom of motherboard is attached to the body case? Or try turn on your pc I'm out case
