I'm on a mobile internet connection using the wireless router D-Link DWR-921. I mainly use the internet to play games such as League of Legends but my family is always slowing down my connection and giving me really high ping by streaming video all the time.

Is there a way to prioritize my computer so that I can game uninterrupted? I'm connected to the router via an ethernet cable while everyone else is using the wifi.

I have looked at the QoS engine settings in the router but I don't know how to set them up since there is no information on what all the settings do.

No unless your problem is that someone in your house is uploading too much traffic. You can really only control what you send ie upload with QoS.

When you look at the more common problem of inbound traffic the ISP is in full control. When the connection is overloaded the ISP decided which traffic to throw away. By the time your router even can do anything the data is already gone its not like it can recreate it and discard some other traffic.

There are some very advanced QoS configurations that can have some impact on some types of traffic and it does not always work... especially if the bad traffic is bit torrent.

Still that does not matter. You can not load the third party router firmware that has these features on your...

Still that does not matter. You can not load the third party router firmware that has these features on your router since it is a mobile broadband router that needs special drivers. Even if you could mobile broadband you are competing with people outside your house for bandwidth on the cell towers so even if you would set QoS in your house to allow only your game machines that does not mean other people using the same cell tower radio as you will not greatly impact your game.

Running games over mobile broadband is never a good idea if you have another option.....besides I have never seen a mobile broadband plan that anyone could afford to play games on for very long.
