[SOLVED] Limit of SATA power port in terms of fans (fan hub)

Im thinking of buying the deepcool FH-10 fan hub that supports up to 10 fans.
Its power source will be a single sata power cable from the psu.
I know that the hub supports 10 fans, but how many fans can a sata power cable power safely? My goal is 5 (4 case fans and a cpu fan)?
My psu is a cougar VTE500 (500 watts).
Bonus question: How many watts is this about to consume roughly? (fans are the regular 120mm no rgb fans)

single sata power is rated for 4.5ampers (54watts)
most of fans stay below 1amper..so it depends on your fan amperage
if your fans are 0.8A each, then you can go safely with 5 of them on full speed

how many watts hmm...12volts x ampers = watts

As a general observation I would be concerned about that VTE500 PSU.

You need to ensure that the PSU is presently capable of supporting the existing build plus all 5 of the additional fans.

Use a few power calculators to tally up the required wattage to support the system and extra fans.

about the psu i suppose that a few more fans would not change the wattage consumption dramatically right? I guess a couple of watts at most? Im not sure though, youre right I will try a calculator.

Depends on the fans but most use around 0.3 amps so 10 would still be fine.

We need to know what fans exactly.

Some can draw much more power than others.

Also, why would you connect your CPU fan to the hub. Let your motherboard take care of managing that.

ok great and just to be clear cause in the manufacturer page of the fans I see two specs, which is the right Amper? 'fan rated current' or 'fan safety current' one is 0.03A and the other is 0.16A (they seem a little too low though)?

0.16A is what they draw at full speed
0.03A is what they draw at minimum speed

as for if its too low...well technology changes, so a power saving goes here aswell

what exact fans are you going to use?

Fans gonna be 2 CoolerMaster Silencio FP 120 PWM, 2 arctic F12 PWM and an arctic alpine 12 (cpu fan).
As to why I connect the cpu fan to the fan hub is cause the motherboard only has one cpu 4pin pwm header. (It does have a 4pin chafan header too but i dont know whether it will support pwm)
