Line Attenuation Increased with new modem/router

I just replaced my sky hub sr102 with the Asus dsl n55u and my line attenuation went from 41db to 46db. Sync speed and snr remained the same at 9.2mb down-rate and snr changes between 3db and 4db. I have no stability issues and am passed the line training period, but can't understand why the line attenuation would change. Should I be concerned about this or is it normal?

Thanks.

If your sync speed hasn't changed I wouldn't be overly concerned.
did you use a different filter or cable? its going to boil down to a minor difference in electrical equipment.

I used to find the old BT home hubs would always sync about 250k slower than off the shelf routers, though i didnt think to look at the attenuation/snr at the time.

As I always say, why not stick it in yer test socket if you have one. chances are the speed will go up 😉

Thanks for your response. Already in the master socket and have an adsl filtered plate. Returned the dsl n55u anyway. Although the router section is ok the dsl modem in it is absolute trash I think. Went back to the sky hub and will just add an access point to this.

Thanks for your help.
