[SOLVED] line in audio periodic cut out

sorry if this is the wrong forum

while watching a vido on my laptop i feed the audio to my pcs line in port but it periodically cuts out for a few seconds, i think it happens when theres a notification but it seems to happen at other times as well

i have a soundblaster audio card but i experience the problem with its line in and the motherboards line in and mic ports, though i havent experienced it with the digital in port (less use so unsure if its not aproblem)

Yes when a notification pops up it tends to break in the audio. Why not just use the digital in port all the time if the issue is not there? Can also use an audio mixer and just hook up computer and laptop to that, then the mixer to the speakers.
