Line out vs headphone out

Hey,

I've recently bought a new headset mainly for games like CSGO, and I realized that the 2 audio ports on my laptop which I thought were the same, were different. One being a line out port and the other a headphone out port.

Can anyone tell me the difference between those 2, and which one would be better? Thanks

Headphone out is likely amplified, and so would be preferable for a headset. Line out is raw audio signal to plug into some sort of powered speakers or stereo system.
