Hello tech guru's, I have a question regarding my ping.

I have a computer connected to the Linksys SRX400 and upon doing a ping test, it goes up to 800-1000. When I try the same test on a wireless laptop, the ping is 10-20ms. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is with the router but I'm not exactly sure. Why would the wireless laptop that's made for business and not powerful at all show pings of 10-20ms while a powerful gaming rig is showing 800-900ms? Anyone help me figure this out? The NIC is an onboard Intel Gigabit Network. I can't seem to figure out this problem.

Thanks!

Try a different ethernet cable. Report back your results.

Are you pinging 192.168.0.1 ? From both the Wi Link and the RJ45 Link?
If yes, then, I'd like you to check the LAN led status at the back of the Mobo when you connect it... check the Mobo manual for the lights, they indicate link speed, errors and collisions....
That might give you a deeper insight int the problem.
I'd also suggest reverting back to the Driver of the LAN card (onboard) that came with the Mobo from it's driver disc, do not let it be updated by Windows Update or driver update...
