Lines through tv

My tv has lines that go through the screen. they appear when words or certain colors appear on the screen. What could be wrong with it and how do i fix it?

check the cable connector...
this TV is hooked up to the computer or not?

Not hooked up to the computer. It does have a 25ft cable cord

then something's wrong with your TV then...
I'm not know much about TV, sorry if i can't help u...
