Hi. I am using a GIGABYTE GeForce GT 730 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card with a M5A78L-M-USB3.

I thought things were okay. I can get my desktop on my TV. I tried streaming video. But all I see on the TV is the desktop. I noticed that I don't have any desktop icons either.

Whats happening? the sound comes through the TV.

Confused. Paul.

Solution
It sounds like your TV is showing as an Extended Desktop. I think you want to Mirror your desktop. You should have this option in your graphics properties.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from PaulDesmond : "PC to TV using HDMI"

I am running Windows 10 (64)
I have a GIGABYTE GeForce GT 730 1 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card with a M5A78L-M-USB3
I can see the desctop on the screen. There are no desktop icons which looks odd.
I tried to watch a program on ITV Player. The sound is there but still only the desktop picture without any icons.

What has happened. Do I need any specialised software.

WOW your right. Extended monitor. Cool thing to have but not what I need. The resolution of the TV is lower also.

So I how do I get to the graphics settings. Under windows 7 it was easy. Just go to programs view.

A bit of windows 10 help would be good as I am only trying it out.

You should be able to right-click the desktop (anywhere without an icon) and select Display Settings.
