So, recently I built a gaming desktop and there are still some games (universe sandbox2) that it has trouble running in higher time warps because the processor in my pc isnt powerful enough. I was wondering if I could pair my second desktop or my laptop with my gaming desktop to run the game more smoothly. All of these computers run windows 10. The gaming desktop has an i7-4790. The second desktop has an i7-2600k. The laptop has an i5-6200U. The gaming desktop has a GTX 1050ti. The second has integrated graphics (Intel HD 3000) and the laptop has integrated graphics (Intel HD 520). If anyone needs more info please tell me.
First off. No. You are talking about marrying an Intel and a Nvidia GPU. Not going to happen even inside of 1 PC. Nothing even close to that happening today. I think one of the major GPU makers has been working on pairing different GPUs but that tech is still in its infancy and the pairing happens within one PC.
Your CPU is very capable of handling that game.
You then chose a low end GPU. Tis lopsided your PC is. Upgrade the GPU to a 1060 and you will notice an improvement.
Then again cryptocurrency mining has destroyed current prices in the worst way possible meaning an upgrade right now isn't the best of idea. Sure, upgrade to an MSI 1060 for $259 is possible but then again the performance increase won't be on par with the 4790. The 1070 would be a much better UPgrade. Their prices are just stupid at this point.
Can your PSU handle an upgrade? No idea.
