Linksys bridging issues.

So i'm bridging a linksys router via ethernet from an at&t 2wire modem/router combo, and there appears to be some conflicting signals keeping computers on the network from using them both at once. The dhcp ranges are different, but perhaps 2wire and linksys assigning local ip's together might be screwing something up? I dont know. Also, I assume it could have something to do with both requesting a dns? Im just not sure. The linksys firmware doesn't have any options for bridging, although it does have a lot of other options. Any comments on the source of the issue or a solution would be greatly appreciated.

~Thanks

Solution
Disable DHCP on the Linksys and give the Linksys a static address in both the Linksys and in the static table on the 2Wire that is outside the DHCP assignment range of the 2Wire but still in the 2Wire network range.
What are you trying to accomplish.

If you want an isolated subnet you should have the LAN port from the 2wire attached to the WAN port of the Linksys (and give the Linksys a WAN gateway of the 2wire address), then you will have two separate subnets.

If you want to use the Linksys as an AP on the same network, turn off DHCP on the Linksys and let the 2wire control the network.

Well I need more ethernet ports than what the stock modem provides. So disabling DHCP on one should clear this up?

Thanks, it appears disabling dhcp on linksys and using cascade mode with 2wire lets me use everything. Unfortunately I cant access the linksys firmware anymore now that its bridged properly :/

You can access it if you disconnect the LAN cable from the 2Wire and attach directly to a computer. You need to access it at the new IP address that you gave it.

Sometimes if it all goes horribly wrong, you just need to reset the unit and make all the changes over again with a list of what you need to change handy. Been there and done it many times. :)
