Hi All,

My company is using LINKSYS E1200V2 router for past many years as both wireless and wired connections and DHCP. For the past 2 days am experiencing a problem in Wireless . The ping goes high (1000ms+) in certain seconds/minutes and becomes normal 100-200ms range) or gives timeout in between some pings. In the wired connections through switches the ping is 100-170ms and its fine and steady

Please check the attached images where the speed gets dropped in a minute in the wireless status page of modem, Ping image etc.

Please know any steps to resolve by upgrading this ddwrt firmware

If your wireless has issues but your wired is stable, then you probably have WIFI interference. If this is a business, it could be copier, microwave, lots of possible interference. Get a quality commercial WIFI like a Ubiquiti, UniFI access point and disable the WIFI on your router.

That Linksys router was never intended as a business class device. You need better hardware.

Thanks for your kind reply. Is there any temporary solution?

Which router/ firewall would you recommend for 35 to 45 users? We don't have any web/email servers ....Just users connect to internet....

How much of that 35 - 40 are WIFI?

For a business, I recommend a WIRED router and separate WIFI access points. I mentioned the Ubiquiti UniFI system. They have a very good router, the EdgeRouter Lite.

The two pieces are less than $200 and will be FAR superior to any home device.

The WIFI users depends. may be 20 to 35 including mobiles tabs and PC's(only when they dont use wired)..... Wired users 35....

My present setup is Linksys e1200 v2 with connecting to ISP ethernet cable, DHCP and wireless in same router...

Is it okay I deploy two ubiquiti WAP and turning off Wireless in E1200V2, and keeping it as DHCP server , the 2 WAP's can have same SSID so i can connect in ground and 1st floor each one...? In such case the WAP will be in same network to access the internal resource right?

Or

I am planning to install SOPHOS XG 125W firewall connecting the ISP, turning DHCP ON, and WIFI On in same router additionally one or two ubuiquiti AP's.. Will all three devices be in same network? Ii want to be same network so internal resources can be accessed for laptop users...
