I have a time share that I managed for years and use an E2500 linksys router to feed two access points. A member on the board of directors called and said the performance was slowing down. He had the ISP come out and test at the demark giving 150M but plugging into the router in the LAN there was only 70M testing to the ISP test site using only a laptop plugged in with NO AP's. The ports are only 10/100 M but 70 is not 100. I have the firewall turned on and only two port forwards to the AP's.

The router is mounted to a wall and was thinking it might be over heating....I would appreciate any input!

Is that 70Mbit with at wireless connection to an AP? If that access point is a N150, then 70Mbit is all you will get. First off, you need a router with gigabit ports to get the 150Mbit you are paying for. You are leaving 1/3 on the table from the start. Next if the access points aren't N300 or better then 70Mbit is all she wrote.

Sounds like the board needs pay for an upgrade if they want faster networking.

After going to the site and testing for myself I found the performance at the demark was only 84/22 and not the 150/25 as promised. I know it's only best effort but even the Comcast guy who showed up saw errors and needed another day to fix it. As for the AP's, Dlink DWL7700 and a Value point Super AP will need replacing due to the 10/100 port, now I'm putting in a bid for gigabit AP's and to add a few more in different locations for a better user experience and coverage. I like Cisco stuff but then again Ubiquiti sells some good stuff I have used in the past. Any suggestions?
