Hey guys, i have to replace my current router. So, i've come down to 2 choices: Linksys EA6900 or 6500. Is it worth the extra $20? Or which router do you guys recommend? For a house that has 3 computers, 4 phones, and 2 tablets.
So far it's be awesome. I set up two guest networks, one for 2.4ghz and one for 5ghz. There are 4 that live at my apartment using multiple wifi cell phones and a couple laptops, and stream netflix to the TV via a wifi blue ray player.
This router can interface with a number of devices and technologies. Even better it is one of the cheaper AC routers on the market, and is IPv6 whatever enabled. I need about 1% of all the bells and whistles, but after an initial half hour of set up, I have everyone other than myself on a...
Of the two, the EA6900 without question, but IMO getting an AC router only really makes sense if you have or are willing to upgrade your adapters to take advantage of the 80MHz wide 5GHz channel. There are very few 3 x 3 adapters (and none are USB, all PCIe).
For at least several more years a good dual band N router makes as much or more sense at a lower cost for most users. Adding wireless APs is a better way to cure dead spots that to use AC unless you upgrade all your adapters to 3 x 3.

Smallnetbuilder did a pretty good review on it.
I personally set out to buy a linksys and ended up with the C7. So far it's been more than adequate and I give it two thumbs up.
