Just moved into a new home and I am unable to run wires to the upstairs, so I decided to buy the Linksys WUMC710 to grab the wifi signal so I could connect to my wired PC upstairs.
The router (WRT120N) was already set up on the main floor and working perfectly with the cable modem and all my wifi devices.

I powered the 710 and tried the one touch button with no luck, then entered the SSID and password manually and still nothing. I don't even see it listed when I look at what signals it sees, it's picking up my neighbours for some reason though.

Firmware on both pieces of equipment are updated.

Any thoughts?

Solution
From what I can see, the WRT120N operates on a 2.4GHz frequency, where as the WUMC710 operates only on a 5GHz frequency, this could be the issue.
Perhaps it uses WiFi Protected Setup to connect both devices, if so, there should be a button for WPS in your router settings that you click and then you have about 2 minutes to connect the other device.

The WPS button does not connect between the two. I've tried that way numerous times. The WPS won't even connect when they are right next to each other...

I've done everything in that link and at the end it says disconnected instead of connected.

Tried that and nothing. When looking with my phone at nearby wifi signals there are at least 5,yet the wumc710 only sees one....and at that it looks different than all the others I'm seeing.

That's what I was looking for as well =P The AC one is pretty good, I'm sure you can find a good dual band router that does both so you shouldn't have issues, and anything AC is great. Best of luck, let us know if that works.

Grabbed a Dlink DIR 820L, which for some reason is just as infuriating. After 2 hours I finally got it to turn green as if it was connected and went to the 710 and it finally showed wifi. But the new router isn't really connected, everything shows strong signal but there is no connection.... I am now bald.

I think your close, at this point I would go back to basics. Power off everything, including your modem and your bridge, and computer you use to test connection. Plug power into modem, wait for it to be completely online, then power on your router, this should have a connection now. Now go through the steps to reconnect your bridge.

I sincerely hope that works.

It works!
Powered everything off and on and it finally held and gave internet access.
Thanks so much, bit more than I wanted to spend but as you say AC is nice to have amd now both floors have it.
