Worked OK for years, then suddenly stopped broadcasting. Have tried all the tricks on support, but no luck. Linksys WRT120N model. Shows up in my network. The IP is fine. I've tried accessing via my IP as suggested, but the browser page says no connection. It shows up listed on my wifi on my phone, but says not in range. Am desperate. Help please! Many thanks.

Your router must be damaged. Unless its still under warranty just get another router.

Thanks ! I reset several times also downloaded latest firmware. All went smoothly but still isn't broadcasting... very strange.. much appreciated! If you have any other ideas 🙂

If a reflash of new firmware does not fix it then it is a hardware issue inside the router and it is not like there is replaceable parts inside of it even if could diagnose it.

Going to just have to pony up and buy a new router. ASUS and TP-Link are my choices for medium end stuff.
Linksys went nose-dive downhill after the wrt54g routers of the mid 2000s, they have come back up some since but nothing decent from them under $100 price tag.

Many thanks for the replies! I think you are both correct and my Linksys has fried. Will purchase a new one today, either a TP-Link or an ASUS today! Thanks boosted1g for the recommendation. Case solved 🙂

Hi, i took your advice and purchased a TP Link router. Brilliant! Easy to install, excellent connectivity and range. Problem solved. Thanks, Tom's Hardware. Your solution was spot right on! BTW much much better all around router than Linksys...
