Question Linux and OS X on a macbook air 2015

Hello,

as I am building my first PC
I was thinking to use my Macbook air to run Linux & OS

I tried 15 years ago but it was a bit complicated and I did not follow up.
I would like to try again ;-)

So, ideal would be after the boot I will have to decide which system I wan to boot from but my main concern is the machine itself

MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2015)
1.6 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
Free Space on DIsk: 9Gb

Would I be able to run Linux and OS X smoothly ?

any cons?

Personally I do beleive that most Linux distros would runs ok on that hardware.

But I have no personal technical experiences about Apple products (don't buy them because steep price) so I cannot tell you how to boot up on a bootable usb-stick or CD/DVD.

Thanks, I am doing some search now. It seems I will have to go for an old version as atm requirements are too high
