So I'll build my first PC in the coming weeks, just waiting for my parts to arrive.

I have a (about) 4 year old Toshiba laptop lying around that I don't use anymore. Used to dualboot with Win 7 and Ubuntu back in the day.

I want to clean it up and install some linux distro on it to have as a secondary device, or to use for something else entirely.

Which distro could be good for it? Anyone have any good uses for it in mind?

Might be very vague about this, but I'm not as tech savvy as most around here.

Ubuntu 14 is simple. If you don't know terminal commands, no problem. There should not be a problem using an updated Ubuntu besides taking up an extra gigabyte more than older versions.
