Question Linux for gaming ??

can i use linux for gaming ??
will it run games such as gta v

With the click of a button in steam enabling proton the list it greatly improved.
Before proton i can play4 of my games.
With proton i can play all 15 games in my library.

I'm going to post a framerate comparison between Windows and Linux for games on my laptop. I have already finished data for 3 games in Windows.
This laptop is pretty old, and lower end. I have tested some games like Firewatch at sub 480p in order to get above 20fps, but the data is still pretty accurate captured by MSI Afterburner.

I just purchased an el cheapo $8 Linux compatable wifi adapter so I can run a comparison on my higher spec PC in a little while.
