[SOLVED] Linux operating system for MSI CREATOR TRX40

Solution
According to this article, that CPU wasn't supported in kernel 5.4 so I'm guessing you would want an OS that comes with a newer kernel. It appears that the current Ubuntu LTS comes with 5.4, so you might want to use the latest release, which comes with 5.11.

Curious, what are you up to with that much horsepower?

Oh interesting, so the simulation must be very processor intensive?

I remember reading an article that was essentially titled "Here comes better threadripper support", it was basically about Linus Torvalds switching from Intel to AMD (threadripper). He is using the 3970x. So I figure if Linus is using that, you'll be able to run your 3960x. I believe Greg KH runs the threadripper platform too, he's the stable kernel maintainer.
