I know this is in the Windows 10 category, but I had to use this one since there's not one for Linux. Basically, I put a Linux iso on a usb and made a bootable usb, but every time I try and boot it on my new PC my PC just turns on and off. I'm able to see glimpses of words, but cant make them out since my PC turns off as soon as I see them. Before you say "check BIOS" or "change boot options in BIOS", I've already done both.

Thanks for the help in advance.

cant say but I just do the live dvd Linux give that a try maybe something wrong with the pen drive ? [why I just do live dvd's over pendrive way??]

anyway should boot right to desktop off the dvd

maybe review here and see if something was amiss

How new is this computer? You might need to disable secure boot in the BIOS. If you are new to linux I think the live dvd is better choice. I suggest linux mint 18. Sarah. Read the release notes how to correct common installation. issues. What are your goals with linux?
