Liquid AIO in open air cases

I'm recently looking at ThermalTake Core P3 Snow Edition as I recently was looking at cases that support vertical GPU mounting to show of the nice GPUs, like Galax GTX1070 EXOC-SNPR White Edition. Hoping to achieve an all white build.

With an open air case like the Core P3, I do not understand the need for a liquid cooled cpu, or any fans at all actually.

It would be my first PC I ever build and would be going with and AIO (custom looped water cooling seems beyond me for now) if I do select this case. Normal case fans seems redundant here. I'd probably choose an expandable liquid AIO kit like the EK Predator over AlphaCool as reviews favour the EK.

If this seems quite a challenging build, I'd appreciate any direction towards a white PC case with vertical GPU mounts

The same reason a fan in a building helps you feel cool. It is blowing the thin layer of hot air created by your body, away from your body.

Same thing with the CPU - the heat will just sit there if it isn't blown away.

Passive cooling is possible but rather than open air it depends on MASS. The greater the mass, the greater the heat capacity, and usually, with more mass comes more surface area - meaning that conduction becomes more viable because of the massive surface area. Otherwise you need convection in order to properly cool a computer.
