Is there a difference between a clear coolant or, let's say, a blue or green coolant? I've heard that colored coolant has extra "particles" in it to change the color and that these particles are more likely to build up in your tubes. Is this true?

Solution
Yup,
Dyes will eventually fade and clog up you loop as they build up in places like blocks. They can also stain tubing and acrylic reservoirs.
IMO, if you want colour then do it through tubing and lighting effects.
Sorry to reopen an old thread, but Mayhems Pastel fluid is generally considered the best coloured coolant. It contains mobilisers which help to prevent the build up of sludge in the blocks. It also has a 3 year in-system lifespan. There are, however, two bad points:
1) It can only be used in a loop with a TUBE reservoir, due to dead spots of flow in bay reservoirs.
2) it's about £15 a bottle.
