Currently looking at getting the i9-12900K for a new high end PC build for games like Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 4, Doom Eternal and other similar games that I can't currently run on my current setup. I found Deepcool Gammax L240 V2 for around £70 compared to other coolers I see recommended for the i9 12900K which are going for around twice the price however will it be sufficient and if not what coolers are there that would be for under £100

Hot CPU, you'll need something better.

I would get something better quality, like this...

(Note: This should be decent for stock clocks, not overclocks. Note that the sample review was done on a 8700k (8 thread/95w) processor contrary to the 12900k (24thread/125w) processor. For stock clocks it should fairly hold its own with decent performance. If you want support for overclocking with max load, you need to go for a better quality unit which will be ideally double that price range or more.)

i9-12900K for a new high end PC build for games
An i9 is not needed for games, plus 12th gen has a flaw in the socket that mainly affects i9s, due to its infinite turbo.

The moment you run anything all core related, you'll be here or on another site, becoming another user inquiring about high i9 thermals, even if using a big ass AIO/CLC.
May as well invest in one of those contact frames while you're at it, if you insist on grabbing the i9.
