Hi Guys.

I'm upgrading my MoBo, CPU, & RAM.

The MoBo I am getting is the ASUS Strix Z690-F DDR5

The CPU I got is the LGA 1700 i7-12700k

My existing rig has a XSPC LGA 2011 CPU Waterblock (for i7-3930k). (80mm x 80mm backplate)

So, my intention is to buy an XSPC LGA 1200 CPU Waterblock (75mm x 75mm backplate) and use my new ASUS MoBo's dual mounting hole design to use and mount the LGA 1200 cpu waterblock on my LGA 1700 MoBo.

Am I looking at this correctly? Is this solution correct?

Thank you!

The board does have mounting locations for LGA 1200 coolers(inner offset) and LGA1700(outer most), so you should be good to go! Considering you're going to migrate to anew platform, please make sure to reinstall your OS. A lot of people tend to encounter anomalies with reusing the OS installed while on the prior platform.

Thank you for the confirmation. It is as I thought.

Question, I'll need to get a USB loaded new Win 11 OS, right? Obviously a download or even a DVD would be useless?
