Question Liquid metal between copper IHS and an EK-Supremacy EVO RED Edition (Nickel Plexi) waterblock?

I've got conductonaut between the die and IHS, but what about between the IHS and block? Do I care about staining? is it better cooling than paste?
I'm trying to get 1st place on 3dmark cpubench for the 3770k and I'm almost there.

Also is it safe to put between the cpu die and an EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel block?

Nothing is safe when you mention liquid metal. Often people that are chasing enthusiast performance do not care about the physical degradation that LM causes. I have never seen a material that overtime didn't succumb to tarnish from LM. That being said LM will always conduct better than Thermal Grease.
