I own an A10-7700K in a mini ITX build for my dorm and sometimes the fan can be heard throughout the hall. So I have to get a better cooler and should I go for an air cooler or a liquid one. The case is a cooler master elite 130 btw.

Hey there, if you don't feel like changing your case (which is understandable), here is what I recommend.

If I'm not mistaken, a "Hyper 212 Evo" would fit well in your case, and improve your cooling tremendously. Likewise, the default fan on the Hyper 212 Evo is relatively quiet (much more quiet than the average graphics card fan).

If you want to keep your existing cpu cooler (assuming it's a non-stock cooler), you can always swap the fan for a "Noctua" fan that are known for being silent.

Change the case , your case problem is that the power supply sits over the motherboard ...

never buy a case where the powersuuply is over the motherboard .

If you want a good small case , take a look at Fractal Design Core 500

it cn take 3x140 fans and the power supply is at the front of the case very good itx case

Manny_2,

First, I would recommend changing the case to something like a Mid ATX case.

Second, If you plan to do light overclocking then get the Hyper 212 EVO.

If you plan to do some heavy overclocking then get a AIO liquid cooler.
