Okay, the device manager says it is working properly. However, it can not
read anything. I insert a cd and nothing.

I went to the Lite-On website and I see nothing about any drivers, updates
or otherwise.

What am I missing here?

Thanks
Mary

Hmm... I just opened the Easy CD Creator and opened the listed Lite-On
Player and then pressed play and it works. Before I was able to just put a
cd in and it worked. Now it looks like I have to go into the Easy Cd
Creator to be able to play.

Any suggestions appreciated so that I don't have to go through Easy CD. If
I could find an updated driver for this, that would be great.

Thanks
Mary

Try this.....open 'my computer', right click your cd drive, click it's
properties and click the autoplay tab. There you can select an action to
perform every time you insert a disk in the drive.

HTH,

Curt.

Curt, I tried all that and still it will not work autoplay. I have to open
Windows Media Player and hit play.

Any other suggestions appreciated.

Thanks again
Mary

Go here:

Try line 10, left side or line 234, right side.

OMG, THANK YOU. Line 234 repaired it. I didn't see the line number you had
listed until later. (I think my eyes are shot after spending the whole day
looking for a fix on the computer). I tried the "restore auto play icon"
first but that didn't fix it of course. I wonder if I can remove that or
should I just leave it alone?

I am just so glad to get this fixed. Thanks again.

Mary
