Hello, I seem to be having a slight issue with mining litecoin on Windows XP. I've gone through just about every version of cgminer and even a couple versions of sgminer and all of them come up with the same error message, "opencl.dll was not found". The program is thus unable to start. I'm not sure why it's saying it needs that file because I can start it on other computers just fine. I'm new to litecoin mining, can anyone help me?

It sounds like you don't have all the necessary GPU drivers.

In addition to GUIMiner Scrypt you’ll need to download and install the most recent drivers for your Graphics Card as well as the AMD APP SDK. If you do not have these installed you will likely get an error relating to OpenCL.

You'll need these in addition to your mining software.

If it still complains after installing these, it may just be incomaptible with XP. You say you can start it on other computers just fine. Are these XP computers?

Opencl.dll usually comes with AMD/ATI video cards. If it wasn't part of the default CCC installation, then you can download the SDK. I don't know of anyone mining litecoin that uses XP, so it's possible that it can't be done.

I'd check their forums. I just did a quick search on opencl and got lots of hits.
