It sounds like a "stuck" pixel. Since you applied pressure and it "fixed it", it wasn't a software problem. My old monitor had a few that would be visible, but only on certain color backgrounds. Also, I wouldn't really go poking an LCD monitor, a little to much pressure and you'll damage it. There are some LCD software programs(something like UndeadPixel) that can try attempt to fix stuck pixels by flashing colors on a area of your screen repeatedly to try to correct it.

I agree with 1LiquidPC. Stuck pixel that you were able to make go back.
Food for thought (or the next time it happens):
1) Get a soft cloth or towel (microfiber cloths work wonders) and place it over the area where the pixel(s) is/are.
2) With very little pressure, massage the spot where the pixel(s) are showing for about 10 seconds
3) Take off the towel and see if it helped.
Keep in mind that any LCD or LED monitor/TV is bound to have at least 1 dead/stuck pixel. Most companies will not entertain replacement unless its a certain amount or in a particular area.
If we were to see monitors/TVs with guaranteed no dead/stuck pixels they would be ALOT higher in price than they are now.
ok thanks guys! basically what i did to get rid of it was i just grabbed one my sun glasses cloths and applied small amount of pressure to it and it seemed to go away
Thanks for your guys help
