I recently put together a computer and noticed i experience micro second freezes randomly while playing games. I don't really know how to diagnose this and so i'm hoping you guys could help me out. Things to note my pc seems fine otherwise, i don't get any fps lag in-games, all tempatures seem normal, and my HDD is often at 100% usage(I am assuming this is the issue but I am unable to test a new HDD atm)

specs:
amdFX 6300
geforce 950
8gb of RAM
EVGA SuperNOVA 750W PSU

I'd recommend you check the Resource monitor and see what processes could be spiking this HDD usage. I'd also run an anti-malware scan to make sure there isn't any infection. You might as well disable these Windows Services and check if that will stop the 100% HDD usage. If the problem persists, you should use the HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic utility and make sure it's healthy and there are no errors in the SMART attributes of the drive. Another thing you should check is swapping the SATA cable and the port where the HDD is connected to on the mobo, to see if that would improve its performance.

Keep us posted with the troubleshooting & good luck...

My ram usage is usually around 40-50% with a game/chrome open at the same time. I have task manager open and notice my HD usage randomly spikes to 100% then goes down and back to 100% again(even while idle at desktop). I tried both windows 10 and 7, and the problem persists. I will try my old HDD and reply back if the problem is fixed or not.
