Little help plz?

hey quick questions. 1 question is this... i plan on getting a gtx-580 gpu... will it work better in pcexpress 3.0 or 2.0? or is there no diff what so ever.

2nd question is..... whats going on with 16x or 8x 8x? if i only get 1 gpu will i b using 16x or will it just be 8x?

GTX480 is a PCI 2.0 part. So PCI 3.0 will not help at all.

Single card if in the primary PCIe slot will run at X16.

The gtx 580 is pcie 2.1 so will be exactly the same in either pcie 2 or 3.

With 1 gpu you will be at 16x, with 2 it will go 8x/8x but there are mobos that are 16x/16x. There's really not a performance drop unless this is a multi monitor setup.

It's a PCIe 2.o card.
If MB says PCIe X16 X8, it will run in the 16X mode if put in the first slot, if using 2 cards, one will run at X16 and the other at X8. No real problem.

i will be using a 32in lcd tv then getting like a big monitor with really really high resolutions. if i dont get the monitor i plan on using a 70in led sharp tv. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05771310000P?blockNo=1&blockType=G1&prdNo=1&i_cntr=1322973839134 . ( would that sharp just b as good as a monitor or would a monitor be better? )

It depends on how far away you sit from the monitor/tv. The tv is 1080p as are pretty much every tv, while there are monitors that have a higher res such as 2560x1600 (1080p = 1920x1080). So if you sit close, the tv has bigger pixels and you will notice the pixels. I always look at tvs/monitor in store than buy them online as I can usually find better deals online. You can never really know how good it looks from online. And you can decide if it will be good for your situation.

I have to agree with the post above, this applies to sound equipment as well.
Check them out in the store and buy online if you can find the same model cheaper.

so a higher res monitor will give better pic then a tv? so guees monitor is the way 2 go?

If you are sitting close, yes the monitor is the way to go.

not to mention that using a large TV as a computer monitor is not ideal if you plan on using your computer for normal uses as well (i.e. word, excel, web browsing)
