Live connection problem

I'm having the most annoying Live connection issue. Almost
every game, the network troubleshooter will come up during
the last minute of the game. This happens on my Box and my
roommate's Box. Both connect to the internet through a
Linksys BEFW11S4 router via ethernet. Both Boxes are set
up for DMZ. I have a 3MB cable connection to the internet.
This is a relatively new issue and the set-up has not been
changed recently. Any ideas?

I forgot to mention that I don't think it is an issue with
the cable connection blinking out, because there have been
times when both my roommate and I were playing, and only one
will get booted, or we will both get booted at separate
times. I'm thinking it may be a router issue. Anyone
familiar with this router and the XBox?

You have to reinstall the older version of firmware in this router. I had
the same problems and did a search and came up with this answer. You need
version 1.42.7 check your router and the linksys site

Thanks, I'll check into it. Although I don't relish having
to set up the router again. I moved the router to a
location that is central to my Boxes and PC's, but is not
very easy to get to.

It really very easy. You can do it from your internet browser. You just
type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and then its gona ask for your
username and password. The password is admin by default then just go to the
help tab and there is a update firmware option. You probably should
download the older firmware version to your computer. It asks to browse
for update. Find it and install. Very easy and now LIVE will work
flawless.

You don't have to reconfigure the router when you change the
firmware?

Nope. I didn't.
