Load a laptop with a SSD and a hard drive

Hello, I am looking for some advice on how to load a clean laptop with a 120GB ssd and a 500gb hard drive using Windows 7 ultimate... I was given a link at one time to another site with some good advice, I lost that....
Sorry to be redundant but.....

I was thinking about assigning the drive letter D to the ssd boot drive so all of the other standard programs would go to the hard drive C:/ How do I split windows to keep all of it's data off of the SSD drive...

Any and all help will be appreciated... Thank You All...
