Load at 800 W ... rating PSU output at 750 W

my total load for my PC with 3 nvidia 9600gt is coming to 800 W as per the asus power calculator

If it's a 900W 80+ rated PSU, it is good for 900W continuous output. That having been said, I'll be rather shocked if a PC with 3 9600s in it would come even close to 800W.

I agree that a Corsair HX850 would be a better choice (though the one you linked to as a "900W with good reviews" quite simply doesn't have good reviews). If the OP already has the topower though, it should work just fine.

According to this PSU calculator two 9600GT with i7 and 3 RAM stick and 90% usage and 10% Cap aging gives 352 watts...

I don't think 3rd card will take the consumption to 800W!!!

That power supply calculator on ASUS's site is utter rubbish. For example increasing your fans by 3 or adding a HDD increases the required wattage by 50. No HDD or fan uses even close to that much power. You should try a proper power supply calculator like this http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp before you go buy a new power supply for yourself.

Agreed. No way three 9600GTs will use 900W. Not the best PSU, but you shouldn't be close to hitting its limit.

A single 9600GT needs about 5 amps (60 watts).

everything will change with a lighting thunder the moment i switch from 9600gt to GTX 260 or GTX 275 or even a 9800 gt

Honestly, 350-400W is MUCH more believable for that system than 800+W. I would say that the calculator you used in the OP was complete garbage.

I don't know. I do know that I've measured my system's power consumption at right around 800W though, and it uses a pair of 4870x2s, 5 hard drives, and an overclocked i7 that runs only slightly cooler than a nuclear furnace (well, OK, my TRUE does a darn good job, but the amount of heat my computer can pump out is staggering. I haven't turned on the heat in my room in a month, despite it being cold with the window slightly open for ventilation). If 3 9600 GTs and whatever else you have in your system comes to 800W, I'd be shocked, because I'm fairly certain that on a 1 to 1 basis, a 9600 GT GPU uses less power than a 4870.

Besides, I just put my system into that calculator, and it recommended a 1200W minimum. I've been running it for almost a year and a half on a Corsair HX1000, and I've actually measured the power consumption at 800W peak. That pretty much confirms that the calculator there is garbage.
