I have an FX-6300 with a Cooler Master Vortex Plus cooler. At idle, temps are about 40C but when under load the temps drop to about 30C. It also is OC'd to 4.4 at 1.4125V. Is that normal because the fan will speed up when under load? Ive heard this CPU can get pretty warm so it seems strange to have such low temps.

Well im using the latest version of Overdrive, which i've heard should be accurate, and CPU-Z. When im in the bios it says about 40c. How could I use the bios to see temps when gaming?

You can use bios to see your idle temp. Then you can compare it to whatever you're using. So its saying 40C. Not 30C. So what ever is saying 30C is wrong.

Or better still you can use the uefi software that hopefully came with your mobo to be able to see temps while Windows is running.

So i just tried Speedfan and im actually getting different results. its still only going to about 45C but that seems more realistic than 30.

The disk that comes with it has a bunch of downloads for programs and other things. As far as I can see it says just to use overdrive.
