Loading Office 2000 upgrade on new machine

I have purchased a new computer which is XP and I have
Microsoft works on the machine. I have the Microsoft
Office 2000 Professional upgrade which I had on my old
machine. I can not get the upgrade package to reconize
the Microsoft Works on the new machine. What are my
options to load office 2000 on my new computer?
