What would be a recommended 12 gauge load in a full choke Remington 1100
for fox work at night? I am using BB, is this still a good choice?
Thanks.

Hi Chris, depending on the range and load, I use between 3's and BB's and It's
usually a 1 barrel job, cheers, Norman.

As far as I am concerned a shotgun is NOT the tool for foxes.
IMHO it would be very unsafe to use BB, SSG or the like at night unless
your assured of a very safe multiple backstop and background. Such
projectiles can travel great distances with equal force as a rifle
bullet but with less accuracy and reliability. Simply put, shotguns are
useless much over 25yds when shooting foxes (IMO).

It is not enough for Rotweilers! Neibour's two Rotweilers got through the
fence and killed 90% of my geese before I got out with the 12 bore loaded
with BB. First barrel at one of them at about 20 metres rolled him over.
He got up and came for me at full steam. I fired the second barrel when he
had got half way. He passed me about a metre away and went through the
fence to the owner's property. The vet counted 30 odd pellets in the head
area but said that the dog could have survived. Actually it was destroyed.

Having almost had my arm taken off by a rottweiller, SSG's or rifled slug at
that rate, cheers, Norman.
