Whenever I am connected the internet on my PC through Ethernet I get disconnected about 5-10 times a day. Then I get the following message after I run "Troubleshoot problems." "Local Area Connection does't have a valid IP configuration." What I don't get is every time I have to run "Troubleshoot problems," and every time it says "fixed." How do I fix this stupid problem?

Solution
Try replacing your Ethernet cable if you haven't already done that. If you're plugged into a switch or modem, plug into a different port on the switch or modem. If that doesn't help, try replacing your network switch, if you're using a switch. Modems are a little expensive to try swapping those out.
Go to Control Panel, if the "view by" in the upper right corner is not set to either "large icons" or "small icons", change it to one of them, Then click on "Network and Sharing Center". From there click on "change adapter settings". Now right-mouse click on your Ethernet port and click on "status" and then "Details". What IP address do you have? What is your subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server?

Go back to your Ethernet port, right-mouse click on it, and then left-click on Properties. Then double-click on "Internet protocol version 4" and tell me whether you're "obtaining an IP address automatically" or have specified one manually.

IPv4 Adress: 192.168.0.8
IPv4 Subnet Mask: 225.225.225.0
IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
IPv4 DNS Servers: 209.18.47.61, 209.18.47.62

I have "Obtain an IP address automatically," and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" checked.

Well, your Subnet Mask should be set to 255.255.255.0. Other than that I can't see a problem. I don't know why your router has set up that subnet mask. Can you log into your router and check the DHCP settings? Change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

When you say that you get "disconnected" from the Internet 5-10 times a day, what exactly do you mean? Do you just lose connection to the Internet, such as you can't connect to web sites like google.com, or do you lose all network connectivity, as in Windows tells you that you're no longer connected to a network of any kind?

I'm trying to distinguish if you're losing the connection to the local network at the Ethernet port on your PC, or you have a good network connection but you can't get out of your building to the public Internet.

Hard to say what's the problem. It could be your Ethernet port going. I've had two desktops over the years that lost the Ethernet port integrated into the motherboard (out of more than a dozen computers). Another way to fix it is to bring up your Ethernet port as before, right-mouse click on it and select "Disable", then wait two seconds, do the same but click "Enable". That's all Troubleshooter is doing for you.

I worked with Time Warner to change those settings and i'm still getting the same problem. I make all my Ethernet Cables. I checked and their is no problem with The Cable. I switched to a different Port on my Ethernet Switch and Router. I will check and see if it's The Switch. I don't know why it would be because I have my PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 plugged up to the same Ethernet Switch and i'm having no problems on those devices.

I tried using The Ethernet Cable that i'm running into my room for my Switch Box and that didn't fix the problem. That means it's not the Switch Box. Could it be The Ethernet Cable that i'm running into my room? What I do is make my Ethernet Cables longer then I need in case I need to move my room around. I wrapped the end of my Ethernet Cable that's running into my room around my hand and tied the bundle together with a Velcro Strap. Could it be a kink in the bundle that's causing my problem? I'm out of options here so bare with my Questions.
