Local Disk Low Space

Hello!

I have four Hard Drives, three are 2TB and one is an SSD which has Windows on and is 120GB. And contains files for Google, iTunes and other programs.

I have managed to change the directory for most programs, downloads and the My Documents folder along with My Pictures and the others to a second drive which is one of the 2TB drives. Which is called, Local Disk Two.. :/

I currently have 83.9MB free, never reaches 1GB and has filled up at one point.

I have shown hidden files and removed unwanted files, removed Windows Software Distribution.

I think I have made the second Local Disk the main Disk in Computer Management, but I don't think it has worked as programs with directories that have to be in the main Drive go to the SSD...

I am unsure on what to do.

Would be great if someone could help!

Windows 7 :)

If you have not done a drive clean up for some time check how much space is being taken up by the temporary internet folder of windows if left for along time it can take terabytes of storage space, the same applies to any error reporting files or log files created in windows.

Right click on the drive that has only 83Mb of free space left on it.
Select properties.

In the next window select disk clean up if you have not performed a check for some time.

Hello! An image should be up there.. ^

I'm not sure... I think I tried to get the E drive to replace the C drive as the main drive... It did not work though.

OK...you simply have too much junk on your 120GB SSD.

I don't what you've tried to do with the E drive, but don't do that. Leave the SSD as the 'primary' drive.

So....delete some stuff off that SSD. Probably stuff in your Downloads folder thats just hanging around.
Once you get a little bit of free space, install and run WinDirStat

Once you get that, post a screencap of that here.

Hello! I have done the disk clean up, it has not helped. :/ I now have 732KB somehow.

I have nothing in downloads. There is nothing that can be deleted.

Your C drive, the SSD, is full.
Delete something...anything...
Or possibly you have some malware that is filling it up with junk.

Hello, I have 2.51GB free. :) .. But I will have to put the removed files back eventually.

1. Your /Users/ folder is taking up 1/2 the drive. 60GB
2. Your hibernation file is taking up a further 12.4GB
3. You have 10GB of text docs. Move those to elsewhere.

1. So what is in your /Users/ folder? That large block of blue stuff.
(and no matter what anyone suggests, do NOT move that /Users/ folder to elsewhere)

2. Turn hibernation off.

EDIT: I take that back on the hibernation file. I thought it was the large green thing to the left.
Instead, that seems to be an Apple sync.

Ah! I have now removed those backups. They were phone backups. :/
I now have over 50GB free, I didn't think they would take up so much space.

Thanks for your help! :)

On my Windows 8 computer, I only have a 74.5 GB HDD as my OS drive, 42.3GB used. I do regular cleanup. I noticed when I made some of my folders shareable to my other network computers it made a "Michael.V2" directory under users which takes up space and appears to be duplicates of the files in the "Michael" directory.

I have a Windows 8 Pro iso file 32bit and a 64 bit on the C:\ drive which could be moved, and also one phone backup file which could be moved. I like to keep the C:\ drive lean so my backups aren't huge.

Have done that, thank you. :)
