Question Locating Junk Files & Folders

Hey all!

I was just looking to clean my pc a bit and was wondering where I could locate deep hidden rubbish files from games or software I no longer use. I'm aware of the appdata folder but was wondering if there might be any other sneaky locations useless files may be hiding.

Have you used "Disk Cleanup" with the system files option?

Do you need the disk space? Or are you doing this for "cleanliness" reasons?

here's how i get at it:

settings/system/storage

then poke "run it now" at the upper right

then scroll down to clean now.

I just now ran it. Cleaned 8 mb. I run it 2 or 3 times a week.

its on same menu in both 11 & 10.

I don't run it at all as I have 400gb free on C still. I did use other menus in 11 to clear up more

have to say it looks better than 10 there.

It might be a good idea to have a complete backup before you do any sort of cleaning.

Give ccleaner a test drive.

ccleaner tends to clean too much up. Better to do it manually

Yup that the reason for the full backup before trying any cleaning tool.

I've used ccleaner for years and never had a problem but we all run our machines different.
